I’m Such a slacker!

At this blogging thing that is!

But in “real” life, I’ve been SUPER busy!

My son is now 6 months old! Can you believe that? Seriously? Time is just flyin’ on by!

Its Been Awhile!

Whew! Its been quite some time since I’ve posted!

I’ve been pleasantly occupied by this little one!

I LOVE being his momma! Watching him learn new things everyday has been amazing! He is learning he has feet, which is totally adorable, but not so easy when trying to change his diaper! Ha! But I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Oh, and I think we are in the beginning stages of teething! I call him my little slobber monster:)

He turned 3 months old, this past Sunday, the 18th!

I haven’t been able to do quite as much crafting as I would like, but I have however, been able to work on some digital printables! Hopefully I will be able to get them up in my etsy shop before too much longer!

Until next time:)

A head above the rest

Since I haven’t been able to work on alot of new projects, I thought I’d share some of my past projects..

I completed this project last November, and used them as a gift for my brother and my uncle.

I went to Keith as said, I have a project for you! Of course, he rolled his eyes at me, but did it anyways!

I think they turned out great!

First Step that needed to be completed was to trace the image onto the board. I couldn’t quite find the exact image I wanted to use, so I found a similar image, edited it a little to my liking, then used a light tracer to transfer the image to the plywood.

I wasn’t allowed to do the next step. The hubby has a crazy idea that I didnt’ need to use the jig-saw. I think I should prove him wrong. So he did the second step, of cutting the image I had traced out of the plywood.

Once both Deer were cut out of the plywood, it was time to paint!

(please excuse, my nasty, painted up carpet)

I choose to use a hunter orange, and a grey! I then used some espresso stain and “antiqued” them suckers right up!

Since I was giving these as a gift, I added some ribbon and a bow to each one!

This project is super easy, with the right tools of course, and could be done with almost any kine of silhouette image.

I’m thinking I may do one of my dog for a decor piece in my living room..

OO.. a chevron weenie dog.. yep! I need to get that one in the works!

I’ve been slacking on blog posting. It seems this summer has just been flying by.

We’ve had some crazy weather here in NC. Tons of rain, and by tons I mean around 20 OR MORE inches above normal. Crazy right? Flooding, roads washing away, people loosing their homes… and more rain in the forecast… let’s just say, I’m tired of the rain! Ha, that’s a understatement.

So what craftyness have I been up to?

Well, not a tremendous amount, but I do have one project to share with you. I know you’ve all seen the decomesh wreaths around blogland and pinterest. But holy cow, I’m not paying 80 to 100 dollars for one, when I can make it for about 20 bucks! So, that’s exactly what I’ve been doing!

Here’s just one of the several I’ve made!

I’m going to try to be a better blogger, I promise!

Until then……

Spray Paint Wonder

Whew! What a crazy busy weekend!

A bowling tournament, pressure washing and staining took up my weekend, oh and some sanding!

Here’s a quick project I completed in between all that other crazyness!

I had gotten this metal/iron dog bowl at hobby lobby a few weeks back. 50% off of course, with all intentions of painting it.  Well, I finally got around to doing just that!

So, here is the before!

After a few coats of Krylon Spray paint it went from that to this!

Easy Peasy! Now sure how Magz feels about it, but I LOVE IT..

Before I leave you for today, I do have a sneak peek of what I’m working on! After acquiring three pieces of furniture over the weekend, I decided to jump right  into revamping them! The pieces originally came from Pier 1 back in 2001, and not necessarily my taste, but I can fix that! Here’s what the night stand looks like after a good sanding session! I plan on covering up/replacing the bamboo fronts with mirrors.. the color I haven’t quite decided on.. Guess I should be figuring that out huh?

You’ll wanna come back for the reveal!

Whatcha been up to?

I have so many different things/projects to share with you but until I can, I thought I’d share some of my instagram photos with you! If you have instagram look me up @amber_griffin!

Now onto the good stuff!

KG was mowing our dog lot last Friday  and decided to push the lawnmower out instead of driving it out, while not to let the dogs out! Well, when he pushed it it went a tad bit farther than he had wanted. That technically isn’t our “yard” (its just a hill with a bunch of leaves and sticks on it) and yes, that’s the lake. But he was laughing about it, so it was all good in the end:) Good thing it wasn’t over a few feet or it wouldn’t took a nice little swim!

KG is a bowler. Recently, he has taken that a little bit father (his dream is to go pro) and is entering in a lot of bowling tournaments. What does that mean for me? Well, LOTS of downtime. Some of these tournaments are hours away, and then take hours to complete, so I take my crochet everywhere I go! (my photography friend usually reeps the reward)

Oh yeh, Saturday was the All-Star NASCAR race in Charlotte, and it RAINED. No, not the whole time, just that cloudy, you never know when its just gonna start pouring down kinda day. But it DID pour down right as the thing was about to start, but have no fear RAIN GEAR was near:)

Now onto the projects!

When we aren’t going to races or bowling tournaments we spend our time on our house! I’ve got maybe 10ish or so projects going on right now! Here’s a few sneak peaks!

Craft Room Overhaul

Massive patio project

We may have gotten a little over our heads with this one. But it will be pretty when its finally done! I’ve gotta kick KG’s butt in gear!

Stick around! You’ll wanna see the finished project!
